The position of Head of Government Relations will provide strategic leadership and support in a university-wide approach to engaging with government at all levels and jurisdictions on matters of policy, partnerships, education and funding. Reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor, the position will provide positional and proactive advice and support on governmental and policy issues affecting UON, and the sector more broadly.

The University is seeking a Government Relations executive with excellent relationships and deep experience in engagement with the public policy and political arenas. Complemented by strong advocacy and diplomacy skills, you will have an understanding of the issues influencing Australian education policy and a pragmatic approach to affecting change. Equally, you will have strong strategic planning capabilities and outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. Qualifications commensurate with an executive position in a key role interfacing with government, and a strong track record in driving positive outcomes through connectivity are essential.
