Headquartered in Brisbane, Australia, Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) is the Queensland Government’s dedicated global business agency. Through TIQ, the Queensland Government has one of Australia’s largest State-run international networks of 15 trade and investment offices in 12 markets.  Led by Trade and Investment Commissioners, the offices are a vital connection between international investors and business opportunities in Queensland.

TIQ also has a regional Queensland presence across eight locations which work closely with other Queensland Government regional networks to assist firms with export advisory services and investment facilitation. TIQ has entered into an exciting new phase with the release of the Advancing Trade and Investment: Queensland Trade and Investment Strategy 2017-2022 (the Strategy). The Strategy provides an ambitious agenda designed to drive economic growth and job creation outcomes across Queensland.

TIQ is seeking a senior executive with proven experience in managing teams involved in international trade and/or investment activities, ideally with offshore operations experience, to lead the International Operations Division. Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager, International Operations is the principal interface between the TIQ overseas office network and the Brisbane office and ensures that activities are aligned with Queensland policy platforms and programs.

The ideal candidate will have excellent people management skills and experience in collaborative engagement across the Public and Private sectors, an ability to implement strategy to ensure positive client outcomes, an understanding of the global trading arena, a pragmatic approach to delivering services, strong operational planning capabilities, outstanding communication skills and good financial management expertise. Qualifications commensurate with an executive position within government, and a strong track record in leading highly engaged teams are essential.
