Regional & Local is responsible for the corporation’s metropolitan radio stations, regional radio and news bureaux, local screen content including Back Roads, Gardening Australia, Landline,  and Offsiders,  live events that bring the nation together such as New Year’s Eve, Australia Day and Anzac Day, ABC Life and sport coverage across all our platforms

About the Role

ABC Regional & Local is seeking an experienced senior media executive to help deliver our vision of being the first choice for Australians seeking to connect with their communities and to be the home of local conversations.

This new position of Head of Content Curation & Platforms will play an integral role in determining the look and sound of our regional and local content delivered across all our platforms to metropolitan, regional and rural audiences.

This position requires a broad range of high-level strategic thinking with the ability to engage current audiences while identifying opportunities to attract new audiences in new ways.   You will work alongside decision makers at the highest level within the corporation to deliver on the ABC’s 5-Year Plan to transform us from a traditional broadcaster to the nation’s most trusted and valued content provider across all platforms, current and emerging.   This will require a close working relationship with the ABC’s Technology team to keep ahead of audience trends and identify ways to attract new audiences.

About You

The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of social and digital media platforms along with strong people management and stakeholder relationship skills and the proven ability to manage large budgets and resources efficiently.
