You will be responsible for the provision of cardiac services, in particular cardiac percutaneous coronary interventions including being a part of the immediate PCI team for STEACS and other high risk ACS, to patients of the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) and regionally as directed. Providing a consultant service to cardiac inpatients and outpatients, you will perform cardiac investigations and interventions within the agreed scope of practice. Particular expertise will be in invasive interventions including cardiac catheterisation, coronary anatomy and function investigations and percutaneous coronary interventions. You will liaise with other divisions and services, health providers in the community and hospital sector, and with the broader community in the pursuit of comprehensive patient care.
As part of your role, you will contribute to the supervision of Cardiology Advanced Trainees in core training, Resident Medical staff and medical students in consultation with the Director of Cardiology. You will also provide input and leadership into cardiology systems and models of care within NALHN and SA Health. NALHN provides care for around 341,000 people living in the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide as well as providing a number of state-wide services, and services to those in regional areas. More than 3,800 skilled staff provide high quality patient care, education, research and health promoting services.
Eligible for registration as a Cardiologist with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA), you will be a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Australia and eligible to be a member of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand. With the professional expertise required to practice as a competent, caring Cardiology Consultant with an emphasis on cardiac percutaneous coronary interventions, you will bring experience in participating in multidisciplinary clinical meetings. You will also demonstrate clinical and technical competency in percutaneous cardiac catheterisation, coronary artery anatomical and functional assessment and percutaneous coronary interventions.
