Software giant Symantec’s Australia arm has announced the departure of its Managing Director, Steve Martin, a month after he left the job.

The company gave no explanation as to why it held on releasing the information, but announced that it had appointed Pacific Channel Sales Director Jeff Arndt to take over Mr Martin’s duties.

Mr Martin told CRN that he had left Symantec on friendly terms and that his departure was not in any way connected to the sacking of a number of senior software engineers as the company moves to outsource to India.
