Almost half of all executives surveyed in Executive Monitor’s latest report indicated they are planning to look for a new job in 2011, despite only 22% of the participating executives saying they are dissatisfied with their current employment.

The report also shows high confidence in the executive job market, with 64% of participants saying they believe they could find a new job within three months or less of leaving their current employment.

“Executives are showing increased confidence in light of the encouraging post-GFC economic conditions and a buoyant hiring climate fuelled by a low unemployment rate,” said Phillip Tusing, author of the report.

Personal networking was cited as the largest factor in their confidence in the job market, with 27.1% saying they found their employment because of knowing who they know, while 15.4% of those surveyed saying they used job boards to find employment.
