The Northern Territory Government has announced a number of formal executive appointments to lead a number of government departments.

“I am pleased to confirm these appointments and am confident in that we have the right people in the right positions,” Chief Minister Terry Mills said.

The appointments are:

  • Gary Barnes has been confirmed in his position as Chief Executive Officer of the Department of the Chief Minister;
  • Kathleen Robinson has been confirmed in her role as Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Corporate and Information Services;
  • Ken Davies has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Education and Children’s Services, effective from 2 April 2013;
  • John Coleman has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Lands, Planning and Environment, effective from 2 April 2013; and
  • John Baskerville has accepted a two-year extension of his contract as Chief Executive Officer of the Department of Housing and he will also continue as acting Chief Executive of the Department of Local Government.

“These appointments will leave departments well positioned to focus on delivery of the Government’s key priorities including improving education, providing affordable housing, strengthening our economy and growing our unique lifestyle,” Mr Mills said.
