The Tasmanian Government has announced the appointment of Stephen Conway as the new Chief Executive Officer of TasTAFE.

State Minister for Education and Skills, Nick McKim, said Mr Conway’s appointment as the inaugural Chief of TasTAFE was crucial in overseeing the rollout of the new body.

"This is a new position created as a result of the Review of the Role and Function of Tasmania's Public Sector Vocational Education and Training Providers undertaken by the Government,” Mr McKim said.

Stephen Conway who is currently the Managing Director, TAFE SA Adelaide South Institute and Chair of TAFE Directors of Australia was been selected following a national search.

Mr Conway is expected to take up his appointment on 21 January 2013.
