Network Ten has announced Anthony Flannery as the new head of its news and current affairs division after departing TVNZ. 

 

Mr Flannery is expected to join Network 10 in January 2012 and will report directly to incoming chief executive James Warburton.

 

"We are fortunate to have someone of Anthony's calibre overseeing the strategic development of our growing news brand. We welcome the fresh perspective that Anthony brings to the role as we look to take our news and current affairs to the next level," interim chief executive Lachlan Murdoch said in a statement to the ASX.

 

Mr Flannery has extensive experience after working with TVNZ as well as holding a number of senior executive roles with Channel Nine.
