The National Broadband Network Company (NBN Co) has announced a series of senior appointments to its leadership team.

Former CEO of the Communications Alliance, Anne Hurley, has been appointed General Manager Stakeholder Management, and the Executive Director of the Institute for a Broadband-Enabled Society (IBES) at the University of Melbourne, Dr Kate Cornick, has accepted the position of General Manager Education and Health.

Both roles will report to the Chief Communications Officer, Kieren Cooney.

The company has also announced the appointment of former  SingTel Optus and Telstra executive John Simon will join NBN Co in the New Year as the company’s new Head of Product and Sales.

The appointments follow the announcement earlier last week that that Jim Hassell has resigned from NBN Co to take up the role of Group Chief Executive Officer of the transmission network business Broadcast Australia, where he served previously as Chief Operating Officer.
