Childcare company G8 Education has announced it has accepted the resignation of Karenlee Lacey as the group’s Chief Executive Officer after serving three months in the role.

The Board said that Ms Lacey’s role had been made redundant following the resolution of a long running dispute with Singapore based childcare company Cherie Hearts, which G8 has been angling to purchase.

G8 Chairperson, Jenny Hutson, thanked Ms Lacey for her service to the group, commending her as an ‘outstanding Chief Executive Officer and business manager’, but restructuring had made the role redundant.

“The evolving needs of G8 Education Limited in terms of responsibility have meant that Chris Scott, as Managing Director, is in a position to reassume responsibility for all elements of the operation and that continuation of both the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer is not necessary.
