Recruitment specialist Hays has published the October Quarterly report, finding that demand for senior executives is growing, showing an increased demand for talent to drive business in a strategic manner.

“Within the public sector, projects around organisational effectiveness and increased efficiencies are creating demand within the contract space. Structural change and systems implementation is leading to demand for Change Managers while Business Analysts and Process Analysts are also needed,” the report found.

The report indicates strong demand for senior executives with experience in the mining and resources sector in Western Australia. Demand for executives extends from Greenfield through to production.

The report found that new executive roles will continue to generated in the mining sector in the coming quarter, despite an overall softening of demand in the executive jobs market. The report found that other sectors will need to show a real need exists outside of internal hiring before creating a new vacancy at an executive level.

“For project based roles within government, employers are managing work internally by shifting resources within projects as needs arise. Where shortages exist, employers will engage specialists or contemplate utilising consultancy services,” the report concluded.
