As the Assistant Secretary, Service Delivery Program Management and Governance you will be responsible for base services contracts and the management of Australian Defence housing through Defence Housing Australia. As part of this role you will develop and implement the associated governance frameworks, ensure appropriate contract and data and information management as well as oversee the delivery of the program. You will lead a Branch in establishing processes that encourage robust decision making around program and contract management, risk management, business continuity and work health and safety. You will provide high level strategic and policy advice to the Executive on the performance of the Defence estate and play an integral role in delivering key service delivery outcomes and priorities.

We are looking for a person who:

  • provides clear leadership and direction for the governance, information and program management in line with strategic priorities and government policy;
  • develop processes that underpin the governance framework;
  • oversee the program management of the Defence estate; and
  • provide strategic advice to the Executive.

The remuneration package includes superannuation, an Executive Vehicle allowance and, where applicable, relocation expenses. The salary component for this position may be negotiated with the successful candidate within the Defence Senior Executive Service Band 1 salary range.

Engagement may be negotiated on an ongoing basis or for a specified term. To be eligible for ongoing appointment, an applicant must be, or intend to become, a permanent Australian citizen. This is a security-designated position. The successful applicant will be required to undergo security assessments to the appropriate level.
