What you'll be doing
This position sits within the Mental Health Executive and will work closely with the Operations Manager Wollongong Specialist Services and Operations Manager Shellharbour/Shoalhaven to ensure nursing clinical governance and professional standards of nurses across the ISLHD Mental Health Service by fostering an environment that promotes professional and personal development. 
The role is responsible for leading and directing nursing staff and service managers in the provision of:

  • Integrated models of Care
  • Excellent standards of professional practice.
  • Professional development, education and research
  • Leadership that creates a culture that supports the CORE values of the ISLHD.
The position is responsible for professional, workforce development and industrial issues relating to mental health nursing including the development and implementation of a mental health nursing workforce plan.

Selection Criteria:

  1. Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with the National Nurses and Midwives Registration Board (AHPRA).
  2. Relevant post graduates in clinical leadership or management.
  3. Evidence of extensive management experience encompassing administration, human resource management and health service delivery. Experienced in the workforce planning and development.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary mental health clinical practice and its delivery and models of care.
  5. Demonstrated evidence of ability to coach and mentor others to effectively adapt to ongoing change and maximise their potential whilst delivering health service outcomes.
  6. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Proven experience in the application of quality improvement and risk management principles.
  8. Current unrestricted NSW driver's licence.
