The Town of Bassendean is well positioned being only 10kms north east of the Perth CBD and offers many unique characteristics including 7kms of Swan River Frontage and is just a short drive to historical Guildford and the Swan Valley Vineyards. The district has a rich and diverse history, together with a promising and exciting future.

This progressive Council seeks to appoint a dynamic CEO who will be a transformational leader with the skills to reinvigorate the Town’s administration and drive new initiatives and projects. It is a time for change, commitment, innovation and energy, so the Town can achieve its ambitions. Importantly, Council will appoint a CEO who is very much aligned with the values and vision of Council and the expectations of the community, who will also retain a strong focus on governance, compliance and risk management.

The CEO must be an outstanding administrator and manager of resources, able to build a positive and outcomes focused organisational culture. Someone who is willing and capable of engaging effectively with elected members, and has the ability to build successful relationships with a diverse community as well as government and other key stakeholders.

Intending applicants should already be in a senior leadership position – although not necessarily at CEO level or in Local Government. Council is interested in applicants who bring a diversity of experience from the corporate sector, local government or either of the other tiers of Government who are ready to step into a critical leadership role.

Council will offer a contract of up to five years, with a total remuneration package to be negotiated in the range of $200,000 to $240,000 per annum.
