The Faculty of Science is a faculty within the Division of Natural Sciences which is one of seven divisions operating within the University. The role of Executive Officer is key to the success of the Lambert Initiative, an exciting research enterprise at the University of Sydney that will provide an opportunity to invest in extensive clinical and scientific cannabinoid-related research expertise, to achieve major advances in cannabinoid-based therapies. The Lambert Initiative for Medicinal Cannabinoids will enable the University of Sydney to focus on a range of conditions for which medical cannabinoids show particular promise.

Reporting to the General Manager, Division of Natural Sciences you will:

  • establish and manage key services required for the continued operation and support of the Lambert Initiative
  • provide administrative services required for the continued operation and support of the Lambert Initiative
  • oversee effective program management for the Lambert Initiative's research
  • provide financial management and funding oversight

Position requirements include:

  • postgraduate qualifications in business administration or related field with extensive relevant experience in business administration and/or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience
  • experience in building positive working relationships at all levels
  • demonstrated ability to interpret policies and regulations, developing procedures that comply with requirements
  • excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing.

This position is subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.
