Software Delivery Manager -- NorthWest Sydney

We are looking for true professional that will work as 2nd in command to HO to execute high priority digital initiatives. The Software Development Manager will lead and manage the development teams to execute software projects from inception to completion. This key hire will liaise with various HOs and GM's across a number of applications supporting our Data and high traffic external facing website. He/She will provide technical leadership and management for every aspect of software development and own the on-time delivery of all software development initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical leadership for every aspect of the software development life cycle for different projects inclusive of concept, development, design, evaluation, testing along with delivery to product management.
  • Talent management, recruitment and interviewing.
  • Guide, coach and mentor software development engineers.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry-wide IT and security standards and practices.
  • Manage vendor relationship, negotiations, budget and escalations.
  • Lead/Contribute to the maintenance, improvement, introduction of software development best practices, processes and tools including items such as coding standards, code reviews, requirements analysis, gap analysis, test case development, and test case execution
  • Perform closely with engineers, developers and product management throughout organisation to influence product development assisting or improving products.
  • Evaluate projects, develop and update schedules plus supervise project status.
  • Collaborate and work with technology/business partners and stakeholders and achieve agreed outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Appropriate level of education and certification in relevant fields and industry.
  • Has extensive experience in a similar role leading high performance Agile development teams within fast paced innovative environments and a passion for technology, tooling & process automation.
  • Ability to excel under pressure in a fast-changing environment with multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Solid understanding of highly available, scaleable and secure services and a demonstrated ability to deliver them against a road map.
  • Deep understanding of full stack development operations and delivery with an emphasis on API and data focused solutions in retail/financial services.
  • Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Experience with AWS.
  • Extensive experience with development process tools such as JIRA, Git, Confluence or similar.
  • Technical experience in api and big data centric environments.
