An exciting leadership opportunity is waiting for you at the City of Sydney.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated strategic thinker with leadership capabilities to join our City Operations Division. Reporting to the Director City Operations, you will oversee the team responsible for the management of the Director's Office, the City's three operational depots, and asset management across the Division.
City Operations, soon to become City Services, is responsible for all of the major services provided to the residents, business and visitors to the whole of the Sydney Local Government Area and is the largest Division within the City of Sydney. It is a dynamic, complex and exciting area and City Services Management is at the heart of the Division.
While we are guided by our Sustainable Sydney 2030 strategy, you will be responsible for refining and driving the strategic direction of the Division, focused on adapting to new technologies, improved customer outcomes, operational efficiency and value. You will have experience in integrating business systems to leverage data and inform strategy.
An ability to communicate and engage with internal stakeholders to facilitate change is critical in this role. You will work closely with the Director and the seven business unit managers developing strategies, a vision for the future and advice for key internal and external stakeholders.
You will have tertiary qualifications in business management, or a related discipline, with experience in the research, document and report preparation, review and implementation of business strategies and solutions. You will also have well-developed information and document management skills and an ability to research and analyse complex and sensitive issues and propose solutions.
Excellent communication and influencing skills are also required for negotiation with internal and external parties and the preparation of comprehensive reports, as are a proven track record in meeting strict deadlines, balancing and responding flexibly to competing priorities and working effectively as part of a team.
